Christmas Post

Merry Christmas
This project was fairly simple, however it took a while to complete. I created the snowmen from multiple 3D layers all piled into one large snowman.  The 3D layers themselves were the most difficult part of the project, I had to get the shape of the snowmen just right otherwise the image would look odd in one way or another. Over all this was a fairly successful project.

The Magic Lamp

The Magic Lamp

This project was more simple than others that I have done. It was really just a matter of taking elements from other photographs and placing them on the 'room' image. I would have to say that the most difficult part of the project was the animation of the lamp light, it took a while for me to figure out the timeline and how the key frames worked.  However, over all this project was fairly easy and simple.

Invisible Man

The Invisible Man

This project was simple yet difficult, to make the man disappear I had to take parts of the image and cover the areas with his hands. To make the head disappear I used the patch tool, I made a selection over his head and then sampled the wall. I would say that the most difficult part of the project was the collar for the jacket, it was hard to get the collar to look just right, and in the end I used the burn tool to make the collar look like it belonged in the picture.

Photo Retouch

Photo Retouch

This project was focused on photo retouch. I learned how to remove acne and smooth skin using the spot healing brush, healing brush, and the clone stamp tool. I also learned how to use different filters to make the skin more smooth.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

This is a follow-up to "The Raven" project that I posted earlier.  I chose to create an audiobook case and disc for "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy."  I chose to use red, orange and yellow on the case to signify the Earth getting Destroyed. I chose the white mouse because it contrasts the blackness of space. The space ship flying away represents Arthur Dent escaping the destruction of Earth.

The Raven

The Raven

This is one of my favorite projects so far. I have always enjoyed thing that are a little creepy or scary.
During this project I learned how to use the actions in Photoshop, it was much simpler than I thought it would be, all you had to do was choose the action you want and press "play."

Dreamskin

Dreamskin

During this project I learned how to use the lighting effects filter. That filter allows Photoshop to manipulate the lighting of a photo, in this project I used it to make the henna on the woman's face appear three dimensional. This project helped me to understand lighting in photographs and how the light source effects the picture.

Flying Out of Bounds

Flying Out of Bounds

Today in Visual Design I learned how to manipulate an image to make it seem that a snowboarder is jumping out of a picture frame.  I used Masks, Levels, Channels, the Lasso tool, and the Quick Select tool to create this effect. This was a good project to start of the year, I am looking forward to more awesome projects.

Follow-Up Project

This is another example of how you can make things appear like they are coming out of a picture frame.  For this project I decided to use a World War II naval fighter plane, it was more challenging because when I selected the plane it made it look to pixelated. I fixed this by erasing the edge of the wing, to make it look more like a straight line.
